Early 20th Century English Sheraton Revival Inlaid Mahogany Occasional Table
Elegant English occasional table in the Sheraton Revival style, crafted during the 19th century from mahogany with fine mahogany veneers. The table is distinguished by its graceful proportions and refined architectural design, featuring a beautifully inlaid rectangular top centred with an intricate marquetry medallion, framed by delicate scrolling ornament and fine string inlay along the border.
The top is supported by a light and elegant base with a pierced apron, while the slender, gracefully shaped legs are joined by crossed stretchers that provide both stability and visual balance. The restrained decoration and refined proportions are characteristic of furniture inspired by the timeless designs of George Sheraton.
Highly versatile, this piece can be used as an occasional table, centre table, lamp table, display table, or compact games table. Its elegant classical design allows it to complement both traditional and sophisticated contemporary interiors.
The table has been professionally restored in our workshop. The surface has been finished with a traditional hand-applied shellac French polish, enhancing the natural beauty of the mahogany veneers and the richness of the wood grain while preserving the historical character of the piece in accordance with traditional conservation practices.
Presented in very good antique condition. The structure is solid and stable, with only minor signs of age and use consistent with its period.
