Empire Secretary Desk
We present you this piece of furniture, circa the early 19th century, in the Empire style, veneered with mahogany.
This secretary desk is supported on legs in the shape of an inverted pyramid.
The whole is topped with a marble board.
There is a pair of doors in the lower section. In the center,
a movable board, completely flushed with the rest of the secretary, hides the inside
with shelves and two rows of drawers.
Under the marble pulpit, there is a single drawer.
The door panels, and the panels and fronts of the drawers are surrounded by a brass
molding.
Furthermore, the movable board is padded from the inside with green leather with an embossed
and gilded border.
The whole is complemented by brass fittings and appliqués.
Presented secretary desk has been refreshed. There are transverse cracks
on the side surfaces, and the cracks of the veneer that go through the whole length
of the board. Other than that, the whole is in good condition.
