Antique Secretary Circa 1840
Furniture in the Biedermeier style, made of soft wood veneered with mahogany, dated around 1840. The monumental shape of the piece, reminiscent of architectural structures, suggests a German workshop. The secretary features three drawers, a fold-down top aligned with the rest of the piece, and one narrow bottom drawer. The whole is crowned with a cornice and flanked by Corinthian columns. The interior is concealed behind a panel with small drawers and a cabinet with fronts adorned with fillet strips.
The secretary has been renovated and finished with shellac polish, with some surface irregularities visible on one of the doors.
