An oil painting on canvas with the half-length portrayal of a man.
The painting is signed by the pre-war painter of Lviv, Adam Krotochwila.
This fine piece of art is in very good condition.
Short biographical note about the painter:
Adam Krotochwila – in the years 1894-1896 had studied at the State Industrial School in Lviv, between 1898 and 1900 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and then several years at the Académie Julian, while he was staying in Paris. During the I Word War, he was in Vienna. After the war, he taught drawing in schools in Chernivtsi and Katowice. His exhibitions mostly took place in the Lviv Society of Friends of Fine Arts. Adam Krotochwila painted genre paintings, battle scenes and portraits.
