Small Table, Circa 1880, Made In Black Japan

We present you this small table in the English style, placed on a leg

 that ends with a tripod.

The table top is small, square, in a tilt form. In the central part,

 there is a tile with a beautiful landscape painted on.

The wooden frame of the tile is filled with an intarsia

 made of elm, ebony, Turkish walnut, and birch wood.

The remaining surface of this article of furniture is covered with a black paint that imitates japan.

The whole is complemented with brass moldings and appliqués.

Presented small table is after a renovation. The intarsiated elements are finished in French polish.

This is truly a unique, collector’s item.
