Sideboard/Buffet from the Interwar Period
We present you this piece of furniture of a grand size, circa 1918, made of oak.
The top and doors are veneered with oak and walnut burl.
This sideboard is composed of a four-door base and a removable, glazed
upper section with semi-round crystal panes.
The base’s doors have rounded corners on the outer side.
Furthermore, the central leaves and walls around the upper section are decorated with layered appliqués.
The whole is kept in dark bronze. The parts covered with burl are in a lighter,
contrasting shade.
On the inner side of the corner doors, there are beautiful intarsias.
All the doors can be locked with the key.
Presented piece of furniture is in very good condition; refreshed with varnish.
There are traces of two darker wheels on the top.
Dimensions:
Base: Height: 103 cm; Width: 248 cm; Depth: 68-75 cm.
Upper section: Height: 50 cm; Width: 326 cm; Depth: 19-39 cm.
Because of its size, this piece of furniture is perfect to be used
as a counter, and the removable upper section can serve as a suspended showcase.
In addition, the sideboard can be entirely disassembled. That is why, despite its size,
there should be no problems with shipping and carrying it upstairs.
