Oblong, English Cupboard, Circa the 1930s/1940s
We present you this cupboard of a rectangular form that is placed on high legs, with side cabinets and a row of drawers in the center. The top is crowned with a wall with a mirror.
Furthermore, the door panels and fronts of the drawers are decorated with oval rails made of ornamental lines.
This cupboard is made of solid oak wood.
Presented item is in very good condition.
Historical overview:
This form of cupboard is attributed to Robert Adam. It was used for storing table linen, cutlery and wine, as well as for placing treys with food. Such type of furniture appeared in England around 1760 and spread in various varieties: open with three shelves, or composed of a table and two cabinets, etc.
