Oaken, Dutch Closet from the 17th/18th c.
We present you this very old and one-door oaken closet. This furniture is from the late 17th century, or the early 18th century. The whole was made in the style of Dutch Mannerism, which fell within the period of the late Renaissance. The frame of the closet is supported on massive, turned legs in the shape of spheres. Moreover, the frame is finished with a profiled socle, and the upper section that ends with
a profiled molding which extends beyond the surface of the furniture.
The door panel is in the shape of a smooth oval, composed of two arches that are filled with a bas-relief decoration with floral motifs. The pilasters on the both sides of the door, along with the molding under the socle, are divided with rectangular segmentations. The door has a slam lock from the period that can be locked with the original key. Furthermore, coat hangers (probably secondary) are mounted on three sides of the inside of the closet.
The furniture is in very good condition. It has been covered only with wax. It presents itself exquisitely and astonishingly.
