Neo-Baroque Sewing Table
We present you this 19th-century table that was probably used
for storing sewing accessories and materials.
It is entirely made in solid oaken wood.
Furthermore, the article of furniture is composed of two segments: an applied chest section that can be locked from the top,
and a base that is made of four legs connected with a cross bar.
The chest section with a capacious compartment. The sides and the lid are intarsiated with ebony.
The base of the chest, and the edge of the lid, are finished with a profiled molding.
In the central part of the lid, there is a rectangular border, made of a wide molding
that embraces the middle intarsia.
To continue, the legs are spirally turned, and end with feet in the shape of flattened spheres.
Presented piece of furniture is after a renovation. It is finished in wax.
The black parts are French-polished. The antique lock is original, the hinges are secondary.
