Mid-20th-century Bookcase
AFTER RENOVATION
High standard of workmanship and minimalist design which proved to work, both 50 years ago, and now, in modern times.
This piece of furniture was made in oak wood, in the mid-20th-century Nordic countries, with extreme precision. As early as the beginning of the 19th century, popular were low bookcases that could be set up in other rooms than offices.
Our bookcase belongs to such. It is composed of two open shelves and a lockable single-door cabinet, the two have been combined at the top with a hutch. The most adorned element of the bookcase is the front of the cabinet door, on which the image of a bard playing on a mandolin was carved.
There are two shelves inside, perfect for storing documents or photo albums. The frame of the bookcase is decorated with carefully made woodcarving.
The bookcase is based on four legs: the rear in the form of plinths, and the front are turned legs of the flattened sphere type, which stylistically match the whole perfectly.
This piece of furniture is ideal not only for a reference collection of literature, but also as a basis for TV.
THE BOOKCASE HAS UNDERGONE A FULL RESTORATION.
The piece of furniture, for its age, is preserved in very good condition, with some visible signs of careful use.
THE AUTHENTICITY (period of origin, type of wood used in manufacturing) has been confirmed by an experienced expert in vintage and antique furniture.
