Intarsiated, Prewar Dresser
Presented piece of furniture has a body in the shape of a kidney; it is on bent, slightly stocky
legs.
The top of the dresser, sides and fronts of the drawers are intarsiated with various types of wood.
The drawers’ fronts with an intarsia with floral motifs, in a frame
made of filet stripes.
Furthermore, the sides of this dresser are also overlaid with filet stripes. In the central part,
there is a figural depiction, made of a light wood, and a rectangular
box that forms its background, made of ebony.
The motif has been repeated on both sides of the countertop. Its central section
is filled with a multicolor intarsia with a vase of flowers.
The character of this article of furniture is very original and decorative.
This dresser has undergone a renovation, and has been finished in French polish.
