Inlaid Commode in the Moorish Type
We present you this exceptional article of furniture, made in solid walnut wood and ebony.
Probably manufactured in the end of the 19th century.
Central section of this dresser is two-door, flanked by two fluted, small columns.
The base with profiled cornice molding.
The crowning board with a profiled molding similar to the cornice.
The entire surface of presented article of furniture is covered with ivory inlaid with geometric motifs.
Furthermore, the door panels in the central part have rectangular plaques -- ivory in wooden borders.
The plaques are ornamented with a monochromatic painting decoration with
whole-body depictions of bateleurs.
The inside is divided with three shelves that are covered with a pink linen.
Presented piece of furniture is in original condition, and has not been renovated.
On the surface of the dresser and legs, there are visible marks left by wood pests.
This article of furniture is one of its kind and original. It is a splendid example
of craftsmanship.
