Historical overview:
The first typewriter under the name Halda was created in 1896 at the Henning Hammarlund factory in Svängsta, Sweden. After the bankruptcy in 1930, cooperation with the Danish printing machine factory, Norden and English Oliver began. From now on the factory was called Halda-Norden. The name was maintained until 1941.
The original Nordic model was designed by a legendary Danish architect, Knud V Engelhart (1882-1931), who gained fame more as a typographer and an industry designer. In 1941, the typewriter got a new design by Carl Malmsten and was re-colored to green.
