French, Neo-Rococo Dresser-Secretary Desk
A furniture from the 2nd half of the 19th century in the form of pillar of the chiffonier type.
It is composed of four real drawers in the lower part, and three blank drawers in the upper part, masking an openable panel, lined with red leather with gilded bordure.
After opening, the dresser is transformed into a secretary desk with two narrow drawers inside.
The sides and the front of the furniture are decorated with parquet mosaic. The brass handles of the drawers and Rococo appliqués on the rounded corners.
The furniture has undergone a professional renovation. It is finished in a high gloss French polish in a shade of orange. The leather bears slight traces of use.
The presented dresser is unique and extraordinary. It is an example of rarely seen combination of chiffonier and secretary desk. Because of that, the furniture is not only very elegant, but also practical.
