French Bookcase, Circa 19th c.
This unique Neo-Baroque bookcase was made in walnut wood.
A two-door furniture, placed on a massive plinth with two drawers and extended molding.
The top of the furniture, distinguishable for the extended, profiled molding, is crowned with a non-full crest with a finial.
The bookcase door in the lower part are composed of door panel. However, the upper part of the door, which makes for the three-quarters of the total door height, is glazed with crystal and chamfered glass.
The next element of the furniture that draws attention is the applied, semi-plastic carving with a floral motif, twined with various attributes, on the under-crest molding and pilasters.
The same motif appears on the door panel, with the only difference that it has been varied by adding astronomical attributes (on the left leaf) and musical attributes (on the right leaf).
The inside is divided with three shelves with the option of height regulation.
Although the furniture is monumental, it is easy to transport and move due to the fact it can be dissembled.
This bookcase is in very good condition, requires a minor renovation. The traces of the passage of time that are visible on the furniture are only its assets, and attest to its authenticity.
