Empire Dresser
We present you this piece of furniture circa 1880, the late period of the Empire style.
It is composed of four drawers: an upper, neat one with extended front,
supported on the sides by columns, and three bottom drawers of the same
height, placed on a high cornice.
The dresser is of simple shapes, the ornamentations have been limited to brass
handles and door knockers of the drawers, and brass caps and bases
of the columns.
The top made of black marble makes the whole even more classy.
The bottom drawers can be locked with a key. However, the upper one doesn’t have a lock. It can be opened
by using a grooved handle under the front.
The furniture has undergone renovation. It is entirely polished with a high gloss
French polish in a shade of ruby.
