Dante’s Armchair, Circa 1880
This armchair was manufactured circa 1880. Its shape resembles foldable scissor seats that were popular in the Renaissance Italy.
The furniture is stable, supported on four bent legs, connected with a semi-circular
X-shaped seat.
The frames and the backrest of the armchair are ornamented with woodcarving, which depicts a floral motif in conjunction with mascarons.
The armchair has undergone a minor renovation. It is in very good condition.
THE AUTHENTICITY (period of origin, type of wood used in manufacturing) has been
confirmed by an experienced expert in vintage and antique furniture.
