Brittany Showcase Cabinet, Circa 1880
Presented showcase cabinet was manufactured in Brittany, a region in the northwestern France.
This furniture is made in oaken wood, and is a great example of the highly decorative Brittany
style. The showcase cabinet is dated 1880.
Two-door piece of furniture, with two drawers on the axis of the door at the bottom. The door leaves are glazed
on three-quarters of the height.
The whole is richly ornamented with semi-plastic carvings with floral motifs.
The sides of presented showcase cabinet are decorated with relief ornamentation, and bottom leaf panels with pastoral depictions.
There is one shelf inside the furniture. Its height can be regulated thanks
to the wooden slides with cuttings in the corners.
The furniture is in very good condition. It has undergone only some cosmetic
procedures.
