Bracket Clock with Boulle Marquetry, Circa 1885
We present you a 19th-century, highly and amazingly ornamented clock.
The clock is signed with a signature of a French manufactory, Japy Freres & C.I.E.
(The manufactory that has been active since 1806 till this day.)
The clock strikes every full and half an hour.
The clock face has Roman numerals painted on porcelain.
The case has a glass door. Moreover, it is ornamented from the front with a marqueterie
of tortoiseshell and brass in the Boulle type. The corners with caryatids,
which support the crest with a figure of a putto sitting on the top.
Also, numerous brass elements are gilded with 24 carat gold.
Presented clock has undergone a renovation, and is in great condition. Moreover, the clockwork is original, and functional.
This piece is unique, rare, and well
preserved.
