Art Nouveau Sofa, Circa 1910

A striking piece of furniture of a lightweight construction with an upholstered seat

and backrest.

The sofa’s front legs are cabriole. The armrests are open, and the backrest is bent.

Moreover, the backrest is two-part, divided in the middle with

an openwork insert ornamented with an intarsia.

Openwork carvings in the scroll shape at the top of the backrest

 form a complementation.

The sofa’s front and armrests are decorated with filet stripes.

Presented piece of furniture is in good condition. The French polish is abraded in

 some places. The backrest is slightly off-balance, and it is

glued and reinforced from the back with strips. The upholstery is secondary, and undamaged.
