19th-Century Dresser/Chiffonier

We present you a chest piece of furniture made in mahogany and

 softwood veneered with pyramidal mahogany. The dresser/chiffonier is circa 1880.

The corpus, with a row of drawers, is composed of two sections:

a base supported on legs with volute feet

and an add-on unit topped with a straight cornice.

In the central section, instead of a drawer, there is an adjustable

desktop which forms a mini-writing desks with a compartment

 and small drawers inside.

On the bottom section, there is a signature, probably of the carpenter.

Presented chiffonier is after renovation and finished in shellac.

THE AUTHENTICITY (period of origin, type of material used in

 the manufacture) has been confirmed by an expert in

vintage and antique items.
