19th-Century Antique Sewing Table
We present you this piece of furniture, circa the 2nd of the 19th century, in the Biedermeier style.
It is made of mahogany wood and veneer with beautiful grains.
The front and sides of the apron are concave-convex.
The top is liftable, and its corners are cut.
Furthermore, many elements of the inside, such as storage compartments,
pincushion, spool pins and the lids with ivory handles,
have been preserved in their original condition.
Under the apron, there is a slide-out drawer for storing needlework.
It can be opened by removing the blocking element in the compartment with the pincushion.
The base is composed of the apron combined with volutes,
which are connected at the bottom with a rectangular board with concave sides.
All this is supported on a turned and carved pinnacle placed on a three-pointed board.
Presented sewing table has undergone renovation. It has been finished,
in accordance with conservation guidelines, in Shellac prepared by using old techniques.
THE AUTHENTICITY (period of origin, type of material used in
the manufacture) has been confirmed by an expert in
vintage and antique items.
The Antique Beauty company issues a
CERTIFICATE OF EXHIBITOR on presented item, which confirms
the authenticity, legal origin, and the approximate date and
place of the item manufacture.
